Assignment – Introduction to PCR
One Cellular Biology was to prepare a speech on topics we’d learned in English. I chose polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Here is the PPT and videos used at that time.
Using Dynamic Light Scattering
Operating DLS is a tedious task, esp. avoiding dust and ensuring ideal dispersion. To practice, I use commercial monodispersed 300nm PS beads as sample. The instrument was a Brookhaven BI-200 SM. The microspheres used was 300 nm PS bead in 10% (PS02N/5378) from Bangs Laboratories.
After repeated practice of dilution and filtration for a month I could achieve reasonable and reproducible result of the size distribution, i.e. around 300 nm.
